Dade principal's $1-a-year pay offer turned down - 04/30/2008 - MiamiHerald.com
Talk about dedicated to the profession? One experienced educator in Miami has made an offer to work for a full year as principal for only $1, instead of the $120,000 salary that the school board offered. The school board isn't buying the deal attributing it to budget issues and have rescinded their offer of employment to the employee-turned-volunteer Larry Feldman.
I have to give it Dr. Feldman... it is nice to see an educator that will work for nothing to improve the school and ultimately the students who he serves. Now if the school board really has to budget in $120,000 for this position... take his offer and give the remaining $119,999 into the school budget to fund technology and supplies for the school. What an idea!
